Antique Cast Bronze Islamic CAIRO WARE Silver & Copper Inlay Mortar & Pestle. Here is a superb antique mortar & pestle. Both pieces original to each other. Solid bronze, with Cairo Ware inlay in Silver and Copper. Scripture on all sides, chased rocaille patterns in the medallions. Very thick and heavy. Marked LNS on underside. Antique, British Egypt, late 19th/early 20th century. Mortar: 6.1″ high, 5.4″ top diameter. Pestle: 11.25″ long, 2″ widest diameter. Weighs about 9 lbs. Condition: Very Good overall.
