Antique Large Gold Bronze COPPER Console Trophy Tusk Bowl, ADELPHI SILVER CO. LARGE ANTIQUE CONSOLE TUSK BOWL. Wonderful large antique “loving cup” style console bowl measuring a tad over 12″ wide and 8-1/2″ tall. Featuring substantial boar tusks handles mounted around the pedestal base, interior of the bowl is copper, and exterior is brassed as shown. Bearing a very faint, shallow monogram in ornate scrollwork design, underside retains the original GENUINE GOLD BRONZE metal oval disk label, and interior is stamped ADELPHI SILVER CO. Numbered B700 – company was best known for silverplate and operated 1896 to 1915. Condition is very nice reflecting the original warm finish – bowl has minor age related wear including patination and mineral deposits within the bowl interior, and a few areas of plating loss on the bottom foot edge as shown – all sturdy metal brackets and collars into which the tusks are mounted as still in place. I think this is an amazing bowl – assuming either a wedding gift, trophy or similar presentation piece dating to around the turn of last century.
