Pair of Ferdinand Barbedienne French Repousse Bronze Candlesticks. Presented is a pair of bronze candlesticks which are a very rare example of Ferdinand Barbedienne’s work that has multiple signatures on the base including his chief designer, Constant Sevin, and his chief chaser, Desiree Attarge. These pieces were cast in bronze and then hand chased, with a silver and gold overlay to bring out the ornate repousse work. Each has the following etched along the base: F. These candlesticks are in good condition. The silver and gold overlay has worn in some areas, allowing the bronze to show through. One of the candlesticks has a very minor wobble. The other candlestick has a slight dent where the wax drip was pushed in too hard. There is also only one wax drip. Height: 9 1/4 inches, without wax drip. Base Width: 5 1/2 inches.
