Japanese Edo-Meiji Bronze Jar with gold, silver, shakudo & copper Inlays. Japanese late Edo – early Meiji period Bronze jar with gold, silver, shakudo and copper inlays and engravings. The jar has handles in a shape of eggplants, and extended leg and three pierced heart-shape openings. There is an imperial 24K gold Chrysanthemum decoration. It is a presentation piece for an imperial celebration, and was made by a very skillful artist. All inlays and engravings are very detailed. The jar has an original dark-brown age patina with no losses; it has no missing parts of inlays, no damages and no restorations. 3 2/3″ tall 2 3/4″.
